Benjamin Asnar is a bassist and composer. He is a musician with a lengthy international career behind him, and his characteristic musical aesthetic draws from this depth of experience. He studied at the Nice conservatory and plays in various groups, primarily in Italy, Japan and the United States. Asnar’s aesthetic is a kaleidoscope of the many cultures of the world surrounding him, which he blends naturally with his jazz influences, creating eclectic and energetic music.

With Carmen Aciar, Guillermo García and Joaquín de la Cruz, Benjamin Asnar has created a new group with Mediterranean roots and plenty of space for improvisation, where contemporary jazz mixes with the language and rhythms of flamenco and Latin music, as well as influences from Andalusian Arabic music.

This show is as a co-production between the Centre National de la Musique, Taller de Músics and Fabra y Coats: Fábrica de Creación, with the support of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera.
