Over 150 proposals received!
The call for artists has closed on October 31st with 154 proposals received to perform in one of the 12 showcases that will take place during the first edition of JAZZ I AM. To know the selected ones, we will have to wait until Friday, November 30th. Menawhile, a jury composed of experts and professionals from the music sector will study and evaluate each of the applications received.
This year, the members of the jury are Martyn Markowski, artistic director of the Institute of Culture of Katowice (POLAND); Josep Mestres, secretary of the Association of Jazz Festivals and Programmers of Catalonia (AFEJAZZ) and programmer; Susanna Carmona, journalist and coordinator of the Terrassa Jazz Festival; Diana Palau, musician and representative of the Association of Musicians of Jazz and Modern Music of Catalonia; and Jordi Gaspar, musician and pedagogical director of Taller de Músics Higher School of Musical Studies.
All of them must take into account the originality, quality and viability of each project when it is marketed internationally the jury will ensure that the final selection represents the greatest and possible stylistic diversity.
The 12 selected groups or soloists will act in front of all the national and international programmers attending the meeting, within Fabra i Coats – Barcelona Creation Factory, on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th March 2019. You will get to know them very soon!
