Hussam Aliwat debuts a new self-led project, the result of an artistic residency with young talents from the Taller de Músics ESEM. Hussam Aliwat is a Paris-based lute player and composer with influences from rock, jazz and oriental music. His project Born Now (2019) comprised emotional, movie-like and dense music, which shifts from oriental heritage to ambient moods, showing an intense rock spirit within jazz modulations. During his stay and residence in Barcelona, he launched a project with Rafael Motila on drums and Tomás Pujol on double bass, electric bass and synthesizers. With his signature sound, he has created an original repertoire combining new songs with compositions adapted from his previous works. The project is supported by the Centre National de la Musique de Paris and the Taller de Músics, in collaboration with the Institut Français and the Jazz à Juan festival.
