Lucía Rey Cuarteto

Pianist and composer Lucía Rey presents her new work Nómadas (Beatclap Music, 2024) at JAZZ I AM, a project that explores a diverse yet cohesive musical landscape. Her compositions blend contemporary jazz with influences from Mediterranean folklore, current musical languages, and subtle electronic textures, shaping a personal style defined by timbral richness and careful detail.

In Nómadas, Rey moves through varied rhythmic and melodic territories, offering a sound journey where tradition and modernity come together. Her career includes periods of work and collaboration in the United States and other countries, experiences that have broadened her artistic outlook and contributed to a steadily more distinctive voice.

Her performance will showcase a mature proposal focused on composition and the exploration of new soundscapes within today’s jazz.

Lucía Rey Quartet has been awarded one of the 2026–2027 Awards granted by Plataforma Jazz España to two emerging Spanish jazz projects, selected by festivals associated with PJE from the Jazz Spain Catalogue, a curated selection of the country’s finest musical projects.
