PROJECT PRESENTATION IN ENGLISH
EUROPE JAZZ NETWORK
Boasting more than 144 organisations (festivals, clubs, concert venues, independent promoters, national organisations) in 35 countries, Europe Jazz Network (EJN) present their lines of work in this session. Among their principal objectives, EJN aims to grow as an international network of producers of live music; to foment music culture in general, and jazz and improvised music in particular, in order to reach as wide an audience as possible; to begin and promote the development of international exchanges, special projects and collaborations between producers and artists both in and out of Europe; and to encourage their members to book European artists and their projects.

Jan Ole Otnæs
Jan Ole Otnæs is president of Europe Jazz Network and director of Victoria Nasjonal jazzscene of Norway. His career as a jazz promoter began in 1969 when he presented Keith Jarrett Trio in his hometown. Jan Ole Otnæs became the first director of the cultural center Bodø Kulturhus. Later, he was the director of the festival and artistic director of Moldejazz from 2001 to 2013, when he assumed the general direction of the Nasjonal Victoria Jazzscene.
Besides, Otnæs has been a member of the board of the Norwegian Jazz Federation and of the Norwegian Jazz Forum (2001-2005). He became president of the Europe Jazz Network in September 2018 after four years as a member of the board.
