The second edition of JAZZ I AM has received 235 proposals for music projects
On Friday 15th of November the call was closed for artists to participate in one of the 12 JAZZ I AM 2020 Showcases. The event will take place from the 25th to the 27th March 2020. 235 proposals were received, which will be reviewed and evaluated by a jury made up of professionals and experts from the music sector.
The jury for this edition is made up of Anna Marie Schluifelder, producer and director of Unterfahrt; Arecio Smith, member of the programming board of the Asociación de Musicos de Jazz y Música Moderna de Cataluña (AMJM); Cristina Estrada, international promoter at the Mercado de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV); Eugènia Portet, programmer at Jamboree Jazz Club; Jordi Turtós, music programmer and music journalist, and Simona Adina Maxim, executive and artistic director at the Sibiu Jazz Festival.
The 12 Showcases will be selected after considering originality, quality, and the viability commercialising each project internationally. The jury will also aim to ensure that the final selection will represent the maximum possible diversity of styles.
The selected individuals will have the possibility to perform their music projects in front of accredited national and international programmers at the meeting, in the unique space that is Fabra i Coats – Fábrica de Creación.
