Andrew Moreno

Hispanic-Venezuelan guitarist Andrew Moreno makes a powerful entrance into the international jazz scene with Axiom (Honolulu Records, 2025), his debut album recorded with his Rotterdam-based trio and featuring acclaimed saxophonists Tineke Postma and Bo Van Der Werf.

Axiom distills two decades of musical journey across continents, shaped by migration, personal transformation, and a continuous search for freedom. Moreno blends sophisticated composition with boundless improvisation, drawing influences from visual arts to the harmonic worlds of Messiaen and Schoenberg.

The trio’s reputation has risen rapidly following performances at major European venues such as Loft Köln, BIRD, De Doelen, Maassilo and North Sea Round Town, and after winning the Erasmus Jazz Award 2024, where the jury described them as “an extremely dynamic, versatile and mature band, ready for major festival stages”. This recognition also secured them a performance at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2024.
