The JAZZ I AM showcases are an ideal platform for discovering the quality and diversity of styles of the artists on the Spanish jazz scene. A small sample of a universe where jazz coexists and fuses with other genres, such as flamenco, hip hop, electronica, urban music, folk and Latin music.
Below, we present the 12 selected artists or groups, two of which are winners of the Plataforma Jazz España Award 2022. In addition, Raquel Kurpershoek is also part of Focus Netherlands, which this year brings a closer look at the jazz scene in this country. The Dutch bands Guy Salamon Group and Sanem Kalfa & Teis Semey join this framework.
An international jury made up of six professionals of different nationalities have selected the scheduled showcases through an open call.
